Your example model is missing the components. You need to either ETRANSMIT the model, or switch all the components to local from the mechanical browser.
Attach an example of a simple scissor mechanism, which can be driven by a height parameter. There is also a Lift example included with the BricsCAD install, look in the samples folder.

CAD Conceptsdwg74KOke Jason,
thank yoy for your reply. I am goning to look at your sample. and i am gonna do some research about the therms that you use, because i dont know what they mean haha.

CAD ConceptsHello Jason,
How can i build a paramater like that? In your file i only can adjust height between 500 and 2450.
Regards,
Jeroen
Hi Jason
See if this is what your looking for..As far as I noticed there's no 'limits' that can be imposed in Briscad, like the motion range available in some other softwares.
Unless the constraints itself.
In this example file we can had whatever value, not just 500~2450.

You can use functions in expressions. With the min and max functions you can recalculate a parameter value and in that way limit its range.Sorry for the double post.

Attach a revised version of the Scissor Lift model utilising Roy's advice to limit the range of movement between 500 - 2450mm. The screengrab shows the how I set my parameter up to do this.

CAD Conceptsdwg77K585 x 627 - 37KHi Jason,
Thanks for your help. It's going the right way with my mech arm. Only the arm need to slide or stop at some points during the movement. A bit hard to explain so i added the file and a screenshot. Hope you can help.
Kind regards,
Jeroen

Kind Regards,

Try using a Helper solid/component to constrain the arm's movement in the manner that you want. This helper solid can be put on a hidden layer so it doesn't display. Macbook pro 2011 ssd upgrade download os.
In V18 you can now constrain to UCS, which can reduce the need to use helper solids.
You can constrain to 2D entities, such as LINEs and CIRCLEs.

@jeroenvds:
To first answer your previous question:
I don't think it is possible for a solid to behave as a sort of 'door stopper constraint'. To model this behavior you will probably have to rely on expressions and perhaps hidden solids. To animate 3D constraints you can use a script. And with screen capture tools you can create a video of such an animation. See the attached files (I had to change the '.scr' extension to '.txt'). I have used ShareX to create the MP4. For a slower animation call the _Delay command after every parameter change in the script.
BTW:
To control the lateral movement of the elements of the scissor mechanism I would use a single Rigid Set constraint.txt1Kmp4295K @jeroenvds said:

ANIPATH allows you to create a flythrough video of a scene, but it won't allow you to animate the part.
You can create a SCRIPT that utilises -PARAMETERS to move the part, then to generate a RENDER image after each movement. There are applications that will convert a series of images together to create a video.

One morge question. When i make a render de arrows of the ucs are still visible. Can you tell how i can turn this off?

To hide/display the UCS icon you can use the _UscIcon command.
BricsCAD V17.2 boosts display performance, adds new usability tools and comes with a powerful set of workflow-enhancing features – and best of all, it’s free of charge to V17 license owners! A Display Performance Boost. The display performance of BricsCAD V17.2 is spectacular. Bricsys website.
BricsCAD V17.2 boosts display performance, adds new usability tools and comes with a powerful set of workflow-enhancing features – and best of all, it’s free of charge to V17 license owners!
A Display Performance Boost
The display performance of BricsCAD V17.2 is spectacular. We’ve improved REGEN speed for users who use raster images within their 3D models. Overall, entity selection is enhanced with 5x faster display highlight rendering. You can ZOOM faster, especially when you’re working in perspective views. Also, you’ll notice that zooming via your mouse-wheel is smoother than ever. We’ve also greatly improved the overall selection and display performance of BricsCAD in drawings containing entities at extreme coordinates.
Display performance is faster in V17.2
BricsCAD V17.2 lets you control the threshold for layer filter removal on drawing load. This speeds the performance of the Layer Explorer and other dialogs that display layer information. If you work with raster images, V17.2 now supports image settings like fade, contrast and brightness.
Faster Command Access through Usability & Interface Improvements
The Quad is BricsCAD’s unique, customizable heads-up interface. In V17.2, we’ve reworked the Quad to make it easier to configure the commands that you want to display.
Customize Quad tabs to meet your individual needs
You can easily add commands to a Quad tab by drag-and-drop, or via a right-click context menu. Creating your own tabs and buttons is easy. Also, V17.2 gives you the option to create an optimized Quad for each Workspace that you use. Less time choosing commands means faster and more accurate drawing creation, and the Quad is the best way to put these commands at your cursor, when you want them.
Tool Palettes now support command macros
BricsCAD’s Tool Palettes give you effortless drag-and-drop access to your most-used commands, hatch patterns and render materials. In V17.2, you can change the properties of multiple Tool Palette items with one click. Also, you can now use macros in the command strings of your Tools.

New Features to Help You Get Work Done Faster and More Accurately
The Tips widget displays additional information during command execution, and in V17.2 you can decide if and when the widget appears through the new Tips Configuration dialog box.
Download Bricscad V17
You can toggle through layout tabs quickly by pressing the Ctrl+PgUp and Ctrl+PgDn keys, letting you quickly flip through multiple layouts.
We’ve reworked Publish to PDF to ensure a smoother publishing process
We’ve reworked Publish to PDF to ensure a smoother publishing process. The Print to PDF driver is improved with the ability to manage custom paper sizes. In V17.2 you can use the Publish dialog’s stored registry settings to control your PDF output, and have the ability to manage these settings separately from those of the ExportPDF command.
And There’s More – A Lot More!
We’ve just scratched the surface of the new power of BricsCAD V17.2, but we couldn’t fit it all into a single blog post! So, don’t forget to check out the other new enhancements in:
